How does the development process work?

We start with a conversation to understand your vision and needs. We then create a detailed plan, going through the design, development and testing phase. We keep you informed throughout the process, ensuring transparency and collaboration.

Which languages do you develop in?

At ZRP, we use different languages and frameworks, and consider ourselves agnostic.

The technology we use in the project is rigorously analyzed by the team, taking into account factors such as:

How much does it cost to develop a project?

At ZRP, the cost of a project starts from our understanding of the need and the best service model to follow.

We work with two main models:

Ongoing team

In this model we agree on a monthly fee for a team and an undefined scope of work.

This team is responsible not only for implementing the project, but also for developing the backlog, the product, the culture, and all the engineering aspects that are linked to software development.

The cost of teams typically starts at R$30,000/month.

Closed scope

In this model we agree on a value for a well-defined project scope, estimated in hours of work. This calculated value is then prorated into payments over the course of the project.

Internally we use the estimated hours for the project as best we can, in agreement with an implementation team, which is responsible for delivering the project.

The cost of a closed scope project is typically between R$100k - R$1M (for the whole project).

How long does it take to develop my project?

A software project can vary greatly in terms of development time, but we typically work on projects that range from 1 to 12 months when the scope is closed.

For ongoing staff contracts, we work with a minimum term of 3 months.

To measure a project's timescale, during the analysis phase, we take a number of factors into account:

Team expected to carry out the project;
Total estimated hours;
Degree of uncertainty;
Overall complexity of the project;
General and market ecosystem for solutions like the one we are going to develop;

In the project phase, we constantly reflect on the deadline, assessing the progress of the project and our proximity to the desired result, adjusting activities and our strategy accordingly.

Why not develop in-house?

Developing at home is an excellent strategy, but not everything that needs to be developed should be developed at home.

For us it's fundamental, and we encourage our partners, to adopt a strategy that makes sense for their business model and type of company.

Specific skills, specific projects, or the need to scale your business quickly are all activities that take up time in terms of hiring, training, financial resources, taxes and labor charges, among others.

At ZRP you don't have to worry about any of this. You pay for the hours of the team or project, and you are free of any and all obligations in this regard.

What's more, you can count on someone who has already developed several technology projects, so if this is your first time, it's much safer and more reliable to have a long-term partner who can help you safely take this step, even when you choose to go it alone.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes, our contracts provide for cancellation at any time.

After cancellation, we have a 30-day notice period to close all activities and hand over any outstanding issues.

Who owns the software?

By default, all code produced by us (i.e. code that is not open-source or otherwise licensed) is the property and right of our client.

How long does it take to get started?

After signing the contract, it takes us an average of 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the availability of our team to start new projects.

We recommend that our clients take this into account so that we can arrange a start date as soon as possible.

Which agile methodology do you use?

Our team is extremely diverse when it comes to agility.

Together with the client, our PMs and POs define the best methodology for the job, taking into account various factors:

Team size
Delivery cycle speed
Organizational and operational maturity
Operating model
System reliability
Among others...

So we work with methods such as Scrum, Shape Up, XP, Kanban, Lean, etc...

Regardless of the method, we always try to follow the same guidelines:

How can I be sure that the team is dedicated to the project?

We track the time invested by the team in multiple ways.

Before starting a project, we estimate the dedication and team needed to handle that project, and we project this over the months, monitoring and controlling the allocation of professionals throughout the project.

In ongoing team projects, we are even more demanding, monitoring exactly how many hours the professionals have spent per month on the project, ensuring that we are within the contractual stipulations.

Do you develop prototypes and demos during development?

We don't exactly call it a demo or prototype, because we use agile methodologies to develop, so we always aim to deliver a minimum functional version of the software as quickly as possible, and from that point we iterate and develop new features to expand on the work done. That said, you should expect to have access to the software and start testing it within the first few weeks.

What if I don't like the result?

One of the biggest advantages of using agile methodologies is that throughout the process we carry out several reviews of the project and your satisfaction, ensuring that every delivery is going in the direction you want.

In addition, before starting any project, we start from a set of requirements that we design together, to ensure that both sides fully understand what is included in the project and what is not.

We take your feedback very seriously and work continuously to improve and build on it.
